Mr. Mead writes, "It beautifully exhibits tilted and horizontal sedimentary layers, faults, and an erosional surface (an "unconformity"), all of which you can use to determine the relative age of the features. Even in this picture, the sediments include at least 20 easily identifiable beds, some separated by erosion, and they have been tilted below the unconformity.
"It is pretty much impossible for those to be formed by a single catastrophic event, and it is the kind of thing that caused naturalists, starting in the 17th century, to begin to understand the great age of the Earth."
The Grand Staircase is a fantastic area, so no wonder there are almost wall to wall national parks through it. I only wish it didn't take me three days of driving just to get there to enjoy it.

Robert Byers claims that this was formed by the flood (see BW for the details).
But what I want to know is how to tell whether or not it is "designed".
Creationists, is it "designed" or not, and how can you tell?

They know the secret, but they won't tell. It's a little like the ancient Mithra cult. Knowledge is power, and if you let the cat out of the bag, you've got Nothing.
So even though Creationists can tell the difference between "designed" and "not designed" they have decided to keep it to themselves. It's their power. Once they reveal it, they have no 'power'.
Go figure.
