The winner of the threatened or endangered category is Dan Stodola for his splendid photograph of a Mexican Gray Wolf.
Canis lupus baileyi, Mexican gray wolf, by Dan Stodola — A subspecies of the gray wolf. Was intentionally eradicated from the wild to protect domestic livestock. Has now been reintroduced to a limited range in Arizona. Photo taken at Brookfield Zoo.
The Talk Origins Archive Foundation has generously offered to provide the winner with an autographed copy of Why Evolution Works (and Creationism Fails), by Matt Young and Paul Strode. (Update: we may have more options for the winner to choose from.)

I question that there is a mexican gray wolf. Subspecies don't exist. Its just a wolf. It breeds and would with any wolf anywhere. Any slight difference in colour of fur etc is ireelevant. I'm sure the shades of this mexican are as varied as every mountain. In facxt its of a kind. This creationist says the dog kink is the smae as the bear kind and the seal kind and probably more. Its a cute doggy. Its immigrated but hopefully it assimilates and doesn't ask for interference on its behalf to the loss of American wolves. Hopefully howls in the same way and doesn't hyphenate its identity. Be a team member and not another team on the bench.

The best part of this picture for me is the greenery. I can remember when Brookfield Zoo was mostly grim, bare cement cages with one "specimen" animal in each. It's great to see it's turned away from that.
That should be the next photo contest: get a picture of a threatened/endangered species eating an invasive species. Call it the "revenge" category. :)

Now that is just plain weird. I have that link in my favorites, and I have been using it right along. But just within the last half hour, it pulled up some marketing organization.
When I checked whois, the domain name was shown to be assigned as of today to another business.

I had recently listened to a talk by Genie in which she alluded to some domain competition or conflict issues. I thought perhaps NCSE lost the battle.
But usually when I try to access a domain that is temporarily down, I don’t end up at another organization with the same initials in its logo.
The check of Arin whois indicated the domain name had been assigned to this company that very day.
Weird.
Well, it seems fine now. We certainly don’t want to loose NCSE.

Welcome, Macturk, and thrice welcome to what we call, for want of a better term, the brain of Robert Byers. It is often on display in these parts, to the wonder and delight of all who behold it.
All wolves are of the same kind, says Byers, but this is only small beans to the mighty engine of his intellect. Bears and seals are, too, but even this pales beside his crowning taxonomic achievement. For yes! He is able to inform us that koalas and polar bears are also of the same kind, as revealed to him by God, personally. (God talks to Byers all the time, you see.)

Oh bloody hell. Byers has posted here of all places ... an Internet resource maintained by a tenured biologist, and which attracts postings from other tenured biologists ... and in doing so, provides possibly THE archetype for the Dunning-Kruger effect. Sigh.
Incidentally, I found this out whilst performing a Google Search on "Robert Byers polar bears". If you haven't seen his world famous polar bears post, over at what used to be the Richard Dawkins Forums, this will give you a truly terrifying insight into the calibre of his ... I find it extremely difficult to dignify them using the word "ideas".
