We'll Be Back
The server for PT will be physically moving to a new location later today. Along with the new place is a new service account that promises higher upstream bandwidth. But it does mean that PT and other domains served here will be off the air for a while. The DNS entries for all those have to be entered and propagate. Some may see PT again in a couple of hours after it initially goes offline, but DNS changes may not fully propagate for up to 48 hours.

I am not sure why it could take up to 48 hours to propagate. It looks like the TTL for pandasthumb.org is 24 hours. That is fairly common. If you are not changing your DNS registrar (and thus its DNS name servers), it should take at most 24 hours for a "local" DNS name server which cached the IP for pandasthumb.org to expire it and look it up again.
It is common practice that when you know you will be changing an IP, you lower the TTL for the DNS entry a day or two before the change to speed up the propagation of the change.

Joker.com does not allow users of its DNS servers to change TTL. If we could, we would.

The up to 48 hours is simply to cover any weirdness, I assume.
post the ip address and people can go there directly.

The IP address would get you a very boring page. Try it out if you like: 71.123.242.56. The server is set up to handle multiple virtual domains at the same IP address. Good DNS resolution is an absolute necessity.
I was having trouble myself getting to see PT with my new ISP here. I could watch the server logs and see that other people were being served just fine. I searched a bit and found that my ISP apparently sets up not-so-hot DNS nameservers by default in the router, so I added a few better ones to the network configuration. Bingo, the pages loaded for me, too, then.

Wes - Thanks for puttin' in the Overtime. PT and ATBC work just fine for me, but I'm only getting total gibberish - and nothing makes any sense - over at the Uncommonly Dense site...
Can you also migrate their site to a non-moderated site?
