The Cheap, Plastic Controversy
Did you know that there really is a scientific controversy over evolution? If you didn't, it's because you haven't been reading the internets. Just do a Google search and you'll see "Intelligent Design" crop up all over the place, proof positive that there really is a controversy.
You can learn about this and other astounding bits of wisdom from SC Educational Oversight Committee member (and disposable products magnate) Karen Iacovelli, on my new blog. Incidentally, Iacovelli is an odd choice for EOC appointee, given that she doesn't think that public education should even exist.

Ah the internet, the savior of my CV, the source of peer reviewed wisdom. I guess all those Panda related posts are now going on my CV. Boy it's sure going to look good. Lets see, if I put them all together and stick them on the bathroom wall the reference would look like...

When did reading book reviews qualify as assessment of subject matter?
Then she asks "What do opponents of critical analysis intend to do? Burn all of the books, except the ones they choose? Ban internet searches?"
Search pubmed with keywords "evolution", "intelligent design", and "critically analyze".

You know, there is a world beyond the US.
Type "intelligent design" into Google in Ireland, and the first thing that comes up and what dominates the first 40 or so hits is intelligent design in engineering. I.e. how to make better stuff. That or news stories about the mad things that go on on the other side of the Atlantic.
Intelligent design? Hmmph. Get with the rest of the planet.

Most any pub in Dublin during the England match on the 18th! I'd recommend Doheny and Nesbitt's on Baggot Street or the Beggar's Bush on Haddington Road.

I just did a Google search for the Flying Spaghetti Monster and got 1,770,000 hits!!!!. Yes, there is irrefutable, proof positive evidence that there really is a controversy.

In theory, does this make Al Gore (given that he created the aforementioned internets) the "Intelligent Designer"?
Seriously, though, somebody needs to get a brain. The number of hits you can generate for something on the internet hardly demonstrates that it has any logical or scientific content.
I get 61,700,000 hits when I google "Astrology". Does this indicate a controversy?
